Funding

ACCD remains a stable and influential organization due to the diversity of our funding sources.

Core Funding

ACCD receives federal grants through our national umbrella group (the Council of Canadians with Disabilities) and through various ministries in the provincial government, in particular Alberta Seniors and Community Supports. Both of these funding resources are considered core funding by ACCD and have been in place for over twenty-five years.

Project Funding

ACCD has an excellent reputation for developing and completing projects that contribute to the growing awareness of disabilities issues. Some of our project funders include: Status of Women Canada, Alberta Human Rights and Citizenship Commission Education Fund, the Muttart Foundation, and the Wild Rose Foundation.

Fundraising Initiatives

Over the years, ACCD has undertaken many fundraising initiatives, both small and large. Our most successful ventures are often carried over for several years. With steadfast determination and creativity, we have adapted our funding initiatives to fit the changing environment in the marketplace and bring in considerable dollars through the years. Some of our most successful ventures include: the All-Star Hockey Fun-Raiser, the Great Human Race, and Champagne Showcases. As well, our involvement with bingos and casinos has been critical in generating revenue for ACCD.

Personal and Corporate Donations

ACCD appreciates the many individuals and companies whose donations are a testament to our accomplishments as a consumer-directed organization.

If you or your organization is interested in making a contribution, please let us know. Donors are recognized in a variety of ACCD publications and at a variety of ACCD events. Please call us at (780) 488-9088 or 1-800-387-2514. We can also be reached by e-mail at accd@accd.net or you can donate on-line by clicking on the “Donate” button on the left.
