Certificate of Recognition for Academic Effort and Achievement

About the Award

The Alberta Committee of Citizens with Disabilities has worked for over 35 years to ensure full participation in society for Albertans with disabilities. Although we have accomplished much throughout the years, full participation in community life is still not possible for many people with disabilities. The barriers are not always big or obvious, but they can be devastating. One small way in which ACCD hopes to work towards our goal of full participation is through a certificate of recognition, to be awarded to post-secondary students with disabilities who demonstrate effort and academic achievement.

Nomination Requirements

  • Must be attending a post-secondary institution in the province of Alberta
  • Full- and part-time students with disabilities are eligible
  • Must be a person with a disability
  • Must demonstrate effort and academic achievement
  • VP Academic, or designate, must complete the nomination form
  • Completed nomination form must be submitted by January 15 and May 15 of each academic year.
